On all flights to Germany pax must present proof of negative test for SARS-COV-2 or a vaccination certificate or a proof of recovery of SARS-COV-2 before departure to the carrier. Pax transiting via a German airport to a third country or a country in the schengen area are exempted. Pax who have stayed in an area of variants of concern (voc) during the last 10 days before entry must present proof of negative test for SARS-COV-2. A vaccination certificate or a proof of recovery of SARS-COV-2 will not be accepted. The following tests are accepted:

  • Non risk area, international risk area including a high-incidence area::
    • Antigen; the sample collection for the test must not be older than 48hrs before entry..
    • PCR or POC-PCR Test; The sample collection for the test must not be older than 72hrs before entry.
  • Area of variants of concern
  • On all flights to Germany carriers must only transport pax who have presented proof of negative test for SARS-COV-2 or a vaccination certificate or a proof of recovery of SARS-COV-2. Pax transiting via a German airport to a third country or a country in the schengen area are exempted. Further exemptions may apply. Please check against regulation.
  • Mandatory SARS-COV-2 testing does not apply for children younger than six years.
  • A proof of negative test for SARS-COV-2 or vaccination certificate or a proof of recovery of SARS-COV-2 is subject to additional checks by the federal police / competent authority at destination airport in Germany.
  • Designation of international risk areas, high-incidence areas or areas of voc: carriers are strongly advised to regularly review the designation list at www.rki.de/covid-19-risikogebiete. Designations are subject to change at short notice.
  • Proof of successful entry registration or substitute registration form must be kept by pax at all times and presented on request to the carrier or the competent authority.
